Hi!
If you haven’t had a chance to look around and have a read of my “get to know me” page yet, then let me introduce myself. I’m Miriam, I’m 26 years old and I come from Wales, UK. I’d love to start my blogging journey off with a little insight into where I’m at and why I’m starting this blog.
Where I’m at:
I was born and raised in a small town in North Wales. It’s a charming town on the coast, next to the hills, with a massive castle in it. I moved away when I started university in Kent, England when I was 18 and somehow ended up flying across the world 4 years later to travel New Zealand. Unbeknownst to me, and my friends & family, I would stay and live in New Zealand with my partner of 7 years.
So, here I am, living ~almost~ in the middle of nowhere, in the Southern Alps of Aotearoa (NZ). The tiny lakeside town I call home is beautiful, and one could even call it Paradise.
Though the town and its surroundings are breathtaking, it’s more of an extrovert’s playground here. As an introvert, I find myself tucked away inside, looking out at the views and the excitement instead of taking part (and I wouldn’t have it any other way). The skiing and the hiking scene is huge here, and they aren’t my cup of tea.
However, I’m not such a homebody that I forget to have fun. Once in a while, I get the urge to live life to the fullest and end up doing cool shit – like jumping out of a plane.

Why start a blog?
I love writing. I would never have said that during my student days, struggling to complete an essay at 2am the night before the deadline, but I have found that as much as I love reading, I also love being able to write my own thoughts down.
I’ve thought of starting a blog many times before but never went through with it. And recently, I have seriously struggled with being on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook. Without going into too much detail, I have been left feeling immense sadness and hopelessness at the state of the world and feel like I need an outlet. So, this is it!
I’m hoping some of my posts will be informative, inspiring or just be a little help to others along their journey of self-growth, because that’s what life is really about, in my opinion. Learning and growing.
On the other hand, not all of my posts will be that deep. I am seriously looking forward to sharing more of the things I enjoy; from bookish posts, as well as other cringey fangirl posts, to travelling and eating.
And hopefully, along the way, I will pick up some new friends with similar interests!
Until next time,
M
