WWW Wednesday – 25th August 2021

Hello there, fellow readers. This is only my second WWW Wednesday post, and instead of doing it weekly, I will be doing it monthly. Mainly because I feel like I take a break between books; after I finish one series, my head is in that world and I can’t instantly start another series.

Taking On A World Of Words hosts this meme, so check out their post to join in.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

I’m currently reading the Ember quartet by Sabaa Tahir. Or should I say, I’m re-reading the first 3 books of the series in order to follow up with the 4th which I have not yet read. And let me tell you, this is a YA series that I will recommend to anyone and everyone. Sabaa Tahir’s writing is near flawless, the story flows so beautifully, and every single book is detailed, action-packed and enjoyable. An Ember In The Ashes hasn’t earned 4.26/5 stars on goodreads for nothing, and even the sequels have similarly high ratings; A Torch Against The Night (4.24/5), A Reaper At The Gates (4.22/5), A Sky Beyond The Storm (4.38/5).

At the moment of writing this post, I am 10% through A Reaper At The Gates, and cannot contain my excitement for the conclusion in A Sky Beyond The Storm. It will be sad leaving this world behind but I know it’s one I’ll revisit.

Recently Finished

In my last (and first ever) WWW Wednesday post, I told you I was currently reading the Wicked trilogy by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I had finished the first two books, having enjoyed the first a little more than the second, and was looking forward to the third.

Now, overall, this series wasn’t bad, the first and third books being entertaining and earned a solid 3.5 stars from me. The story is one I can read over and over (and I do) and never get bored of. What I didn’t like about this trilogy though, was the whole premise of the second book and the way it unfolded, and the fact that at the end of it all, the story had no conclusion… and that really irked me.

Next Read

My next read will be Witches Steeped in Gold (I know I said this last month!). It’s been on my TBR all year, and I keep seeing the cover and feeling guilty for not starting it yet!

Have you read these books? What are your thoughts on them?

Please leave a link for your WWW in the comments 🙂

Until next time,

I haven’t read or even heard of any of these books, but good on you for reading so much! It usually takes me over a month to read a book!

    1. they’re quite popular in the “Young Adult”/fantasy genre so I can imagine they don’t pop up much outside of the YA book community haha thank you – these kind of stories just suck me in!

  3. Witches Steeped in Gold has been in my pile FOREVER too! Hope you enjoy it!

  4. It’s so interesting as a book blogger to see what others are reading! Thanks for sharing your WWW!

  5. I have started my rereading of the Ember in the Ashes series this year. I’m slowly making my way towards that final book, too. I am really looking forward to reading Witches Steeped in Gold, also!!
