WWW Wednesday – 20th July 2022

Hi, fellow readers. If you’ve seen one of my WWW Wednesday posts before, you’ll know that I don’t do it weekly. That’s because I usually don’t get through books that fast so I just do this sporadically when it suits me and my reading style. However, I’ve been on a roll this month and haven’t stopped reading, which is probably why I haven’t written a blog post in 3 weeks (oops!). So I have some great books to talk about today…

This meme is hosted by Taking On A World Of Words so check out their post to join in.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

This one isn’t a hugely popular book and is by an independant author (Rebecca Crunden) that I have connected with on Twitter. So far, I am loving the plot and the characters.

These Violent Nights has been long with a lot to take in, but it’s not info-dumpy. In fact, it’s not too detailed at all e.g. doesn’t define how each character looks. And boy, there are many characters to keep track of. I have struggled a little with that. But the concept is interesting and it is a fun read that I’m enjoying unravelling!

I’m almost at the end which I’m a little apprehensive about!

Recently Finished

I have recently finished a couple of books: Daughter of the Moon Goddess and The Stardust Thief. Ahhhh how I adored every minute of both of these!

Daughter of the Moon Goddess was insanely enchanting, and a little different to what I’m used to reading in YA fantasy which was amazing. It wasn’t dark, and I learned a lot about a different culture. The writing was flowing, the story was a delight, and there was an unforeseen betrayal – I cannot wait to carry on with this series!

Same goes for The Stardust Thief, it was magical and I was hooked from chapter 1. The Stardust Thief was more of what I am used to reading and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The characters were intresesting and the plot thickened with ever turn of the page. Again, I await book #2 in the installment.

Next Read

My next read is This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi. Of course, fans of YA will already be very familiar with the Shatter Me series by this author and I am hoping her latest is just as gripping!

I’m then going to read These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong – I started reading this months ago but I didn’t give it a proper go before setting it aside to read something else. I’ve heard such amazing things and I know that it will be my kind of book, I just need to get into it.

Have you read any of these books? Did you enjoy them?

Please leave a link for your WWW Wednesday in the comments 🙂

Until next time,
